Gaetano Miccichè

CHAIRMAN OF IMI CORPORATE & INVESTMENT BANKING DIVISION  


Chairman of Intesa Sanpaolo’s IMI Corporate & Investment Banking Division since July 2020.

Previously, from February 2010 to April 2016, he was General Manager and member of the Management Board of Intesa Sanpaolo, Head of the Corporate and Investment Banking Division of Intesa Sanpaolo, from January 2007 to April 2016.
Chief Executive Officer of Banca IMI, now integrated into Intesa Sanpaolo, from October 2007 to March 2015 and subsequently Chair from April 2016 to July 2020. CEO and General Manager of UBI Banca from August 2020 to April 2021.
Graduated in Law, he obtained the MBA at SDA Bocconi with the diploma of merit in 1984 and the Master of Masters, conferred by SDA Bocconi - Master Alumni Association, in December 2008.

His professional career began in February 1971 at the Cassa Centrale di Risparmio delle Province Siciliane reaching the position of Head of Corporate Customers.
In April 1989 he joined Rodriquez S.p.A. as Chief Financial Officer.
In November 1992 he took over as General Manager and subsequently that of Delegate Liquidator of Gerolimich - Manufacturing Union. In January 1996 he was appointed General Manager of Santa Valeria S.p.A. In October 1997 he became Chief Executive Officer and General Manager of Olcese S.p.A.
In June 2002 he joined Banca Intesa.

He is currently Chair of Engineering Ingegneria Informatica S.p.A, Board member of NEVA SGR S.p.A., member of the Strategic Advisory Boards of Neuberger Berman/NB Renaissance Partners Ltd. and Nextalia SGR S.p.A., member of the Scientific Committee of the Politecnico di Milano, member of the Board of Directors of ANSPC - Associazione Nazionale per lo Studio del Credito, Advisor of Lotteria Filantropica Italia Ente Filantropico. As of February 2023 he his appointed Advisor of “Per Milano - Ente del Terzo Settore” Association.

On 31 May 2013 he was appointed Cavaliere del Lavoro by the President of the Republic, Giorgio Napolitano.

Mauro Micillo

CHIEF OF IMI CORPORATE & INVESTMENT BANKING DIVISION  


Head of the IMI Corporate & Investment Banking Division since 27 April 2016.

M. Micillo graduated with first class honors in Business and Administration in 1994 at the Statale University of Brescia.

Thanks to a fellowship, he subsequently specialised in “Currency Management and International Finance”. After holding various positions in FINECO and IMI-FIDEURAM Group, in 2000 he joined Banca Esperia (Mediobanca, Mediolanum & Partners) as Chief Investment Officer.

In 2002, he joined the Capitalia Group as Executive Director, in charge of the Group Finance (Treasury, Trading, Product Structuring and ALM). In 2005, he was appointed CEO of the Group’s asset management company.

In October 2007, following the merger of the company into the UniCredit Group, he left the Capitalia Group and became Deputy General Manager and Chief Financial Officer of the Banca Popolare di Vicenza Group.

In October 2009, he was appointed CEO of the Intesa Sanpaolo Group asset management company (Eurizon Capital), directly reporting to the then Group CEO.

In January 2014, he was appointed General Manager of Banca IMI, of which he became CEO in March 2015, retaining the position until the bank was merged into the Parent Company in June 2020.

In April 2016, he became Head of the Corporate and Investment Banking Division of Intesa Sanpaolo (currently IMI Corporate & Investment Banking Division).

As far as international roles are concerned, he was a member of the European Commission’s Expert Group on Market Efficiency. He was also Chair of Allfunds Bank, a Spanish bank later listed on the London Stock Exchange. He is currently a Member of the Supervisory Board (Net Zero Carbon Cities) of the World Economic Forum.

Alongside his professional activity, he also passionately developed the academic one. Firstly, as Lecturer at the SDA Bocconi, then as Adjunct Professor at the University of Brescia and since 2006 as Adjunct Professor of the “Asset Management” University chair at the LUISS Guido Carli in Rome.

Massimo Mocio

HEAD OF GLOBAL BANKING & MARKETS

 

Massimo Mocio graduated “Magna cum laude” from Bocconi University in Milan, earning a degree in Economics and Social Sciences (DES) with a thesis on Central Banks and the Coordination of Monetary Policies.After starting off his career at Credito Italiano, in May 1988, he joined the Istituto Bancario San Paolo in Turin where he held various positions in the Foreign Affairs Department, and was later transferred to the bank’s London branch, becoming head of the equity capital markets and derivatives activity.

In 1997 he completed the Investment Management Master Degree Programme at the London Business School.
In 1999, he joined Banca Commerciale Italiana - London Branch, as Head of the equity and derivatives activities for the BCI Group.
Following the merger of BCI and the Intesa Group, in 2002 he took over responsibility for the equity markets trading and sales at Banca Caboto, the Intesa Group’s investment bank, and thereafter he was named Head of Global Markets Trading.
Following the merger between Banca Caboto and Banca IMI, in 2008 he was named Head of Capital Management activities at the new Banca IMI, the Investment Bank of Intesa Sanpaolo Group, where all the activities in Capital Markets, Investment Banking and Structured Finance were concentrated.
He was subsequently appointed as Head of all finance, proprietary-trading and investment activities making up the Finance & Investments Business Unit.
In January 2015, he became Head of Global Markets Business Unit, which incorporated all the Intesa Sanpaolo Group’s activities on the financial markets, with regard to capital markest, sales trading & structuring, proprietary finance and investments.
In January 2018, he was appointed General Manager of Banca IMI, taking over all the business lines including Markets, Structured Finance and Investment Banking.


In July 2020, following the merger of Banca IMI into the parent company Intesa Sanpaolo, he is appointed Deputy Chief of IMI Corporate & Investment Banking Division and maintains all previous business responsibilities as Head of Global Markets & Investment Banking.  From January 2023, he is responsible for Global Banking & Markets, retaining the title of Deputy Chief of the Division.

He is also Chairman of Assiom Forex (the Financial Markets Association in Italy), Member of the Board of AFME (Association for Financial Markets in Europe) and Member of the Advisory Committee of Euronext Borsa Italiana. Previously, he was Member of the Board of Directors of Borsa Italiana S.p.A., MTS S.p.A. and Board Member of ICMA (International Capital Markets Association).

Nicola Doninelli
HEAD OF DISTRIBUTION PLATFORMS & GTB

 

Graduated in Economics at the University of Brescia, he then attended a Master of Arts in Mathematics at the Columbia University in the City of New York, with a specialisation in Mathematics of Finance. Later, he concluded his studies with a doctorate in Mathematics for Financial Market Analysis at the University of Milano Bicocca.

From July 2010 to April 2021, he held the position of CEO and Managing Director of Epsilon SGR, a specialized asset management company of the Intesa Sanpaolo Group. Before joining Intesa Sanpaolo, he held several positions within the Italian banking sector.

He teaches Portfolio Management as an adjunct professor at the Catholic University of Milan.

He looks after Distribution Platforms & GTB since January 2023.

Andrea Mayr
HEAD OF CLIENT COVERAGE & ADVISORY

 

Graduated “Magna cum laude” from La Sapienza University of Rome in 1987 with a degree in Economics and Business and a thesis on "Merchant Banking and Corporate Financing." He received the "Best in Class" award from La Sapienza University in 2006 on the occasion of the centenary of the Faculty of Economics.

Since January 2023 he leads Client Coverage & Advisory of the IMI Corporate & Investment Banking Division.

Since 1988 he has worked at Banque Bruxelles Lambert in London and Brussels, by doing M&A and Merchant Banking. In 1991, he joined IMI in the Corporate Finance team. Then, he played a leading role in both the privatization season of Italian public companies - launched at the same time as the privatization of IMI itself - and in the implementation of the Mediaset project in 1996, which he followed personally.


In 2005, he was appointed as Head of Investment Banking with the title of Deputy General Manager of Banca IMI, assuming the leadership of all investment banking activities of the Intesa Sanpaolo Group. During the same time, he led over seventy ipos and oversaw the complex acquisition of Wind by the Orascom Group, Europe's largest LBO.

He has served on the Board of F2i SGR and on the Board of Equiter; he is Intesa Sanpaolo's representative in the Euronext syndicate. He has participated in the Advisory Board of Borsa Italiana for SME stock markets and is a member of the Organismo Italiano di Valutazione, a foundation promoted by Bocconi University to define "Italian principles of valuation”.

Roberta Accettura
HEAD OF IMI CIB HUMAN RESOURCES & CHANGE MANAGEMENT


With a degree in Business Administration from Bocconi University, specialising in Organisation and HR, she has been working in human resources since 1998, with a particular focus on management, international mobility, managerial development and talent enhancement. She has gained significant experience in the coordination of project initiatives in Italy and abroad.

After three years of experience in the HR function of a group in the Luxury sector, she joined the Intesa Sanpaolo Group in 2001. From 2010 to 2015, she held senior roles in the HR structure of the International Subsidiary Banks Division.

From 2015 to 2018, she was Head of Executive and Talent Management of the Intesa Sanpaolo Group. From 2018 to 2021, she was Head of Human Resources, Change Management and Sustainability for the Intesa Sanpaolo Vita Insurance Group.

She has taken part in numerous training initiatives at prestigious Universities, including INSEAD and SDA Bocconi.

Bernardo Bailo
HEAD OF GLOBAL MARKETS SALES & PLATFORMS 


Graduated with honours in Economics at Bocconi University in Milan, he began his working career in 1992 within BNL, nowadays the BNP Paribas Group. In 1994, he joined the asset management team of Mediolanum Banking Group as Fixed Income and Insurance Portfolio Manager.

In 1998, he joined UBS Investment Bank as Head of Equity Derivatives Sales for the Italian market.


From 2000 to 2013, holds the role of Managing Director at Goldman Sachs running regional and European sales teams, both in the Equity and Fixed Income. From 2013 to 2017 he joined Man Group PLC as Managing Director.


In 2018 he joins Banca IMI as Head of Sales in Global Market Securities. In July 2020, following the merger of Banca IMI into the parent company Intesa Sanpaolo, he assumes the role of Head of Sales in Global Market Securities within the IMI Corporate & Investment Banking Division.


He served in the Italian Army as an Alpine troop Lieutenant. He is married with three children.

Silvia Botto
HEAD OF IMI CIB STRATEGIES & MARKETING


Graduated with honours in Engineering and Management at Politecnico of Turin in 2008, with an Alta Scuola Politecnica Diploma. The same year she began her working career at Bank of America Merrill Lynch in London, as part of the EMEA Investment Banking team.

As Head of Strategies and Marketing, she contributes to the definition of strategic guidelines for the IMI Corporate & Investment Banking Division, as well as commercial priorities vs. corporate and institutional clients.

In Intesa Sanpaolo since 2011, she held various roles in the IMI Corporate & Investment Banking Division, within both Corporate Coverage, focusing on the Energy sector, and Business Development.

Head of IMI CIB Strategies & Marketing since January 2023.

Biagio Calabrese
HEAD OF CORPORATE FINANCE & ADVISORY 


He holds a Degree in Business Administration and a Master in corporate tax law and accounting from Bocconi University, Milan. He qualified as a chartered accountant. He holds a Master in Finance from London Business School.

Built up over the years a diversified profile with high sophisticated managerial capabilities as well as deal making ones. Led, as a team leader, key M&A transactions, managed various complex business platforms aimed at providing best in class complex solutions to financial needs of sophisticated clients.


In Intesa Sanpaolo since 2006, he held various roles in IMI CIB Division: from February 2019 to December 2022 Global Head of Structured Finance. From September 2015 to February 2019 General Manager of New York Hub and from October 2006 to August 2015 Head of Real Estate Advisory Practice Banca IMI Milan. 


Prior to joining Intesa Sanpaolo he served as Vice President in Lazard Milan from 2002 until 2006 and worked for Andersen Legal from 1997 until 2001 and in Strategic Services of Accenture Milan in 1996.

Salvatore Crescenzi
HEAD OF GLOBAL CREDIT STRUCTURING


After graduating in Economics magna cum laude from the Luiss University of Rome, he has spent his career working for several Italian and international banks. From 1993 to 2000, he worked for Banca Nazionale del Lavoro, starting with an on-the-job executive training program; then, he assumed the responsibility for the investment products structuring desk. In 2000 he joined BNP Paribas’ equity derivatives department as marketer and Head of Retail Listed Products.

From 2003 to the end of 2009, he worked for Société Générale CIB as structurer, ALM advisor and Head of financial engineering in Italy. At the end of 2009, he joined the Intesa Sanpaolo Group, within the corporate and investment banking, covering positions of growing responsibilities, as Head of structuring (both institutional/corporate and retail), financial engineering and modelling, capital allocation and pricing, credit risk solutions on performing and non-performing exposures.


Since 2018 Head of Global Market Solutions & Financing, the business unit focused on structuring and marketing ad hoc solutions for both institutional and corporate clients.

Gianluca Cugno
HEAD OF IMI CIB OPERATIONAL & FINANCIAL GOVERNANCE


After a Degree in Business and Administration from Luigi Bocconi University in Milan in 1992, he starts his career at JP Morgan and later at Citibank as equity derivatives trader. In 1998, he joins UniCredit as senior equity derivatives trader. In 2001, he is appointed Head of Trading and Deputy General Manager at TradingLab Bank, part of UniCredit Group.

In 2004 he becomes Head of Equity Derivatives Trading at UBM (UniCredit). In 2006, he joins Banca IMI as Head of Global Markets Trading. In 2008, after the merger between Caboto and Banca IMI, he is appointed as Head of Risk Trading at Banca IMI and, from 2009, as Head of Capital Markets which oversees Risk Trading, Sales and Structuring.

In 2014, he becomes COO of Banca IMI and in 2016, he is appointed as Head of International Network at Intesa Sanpaolo Corporate & Investment Banking Division. He served and still serves as board member of several companies, including MTS S.p.A. (2006-2007), AFME (2010-2018).

Giuseppe Luigi Maria Della Rocca
HEAD OF GLOBAL MARKETS TRADING & INVESTMENTS 

 

Graduated in Monetary and Financial Economics with a thesis on "Restructuring the Italian Banking System" at Luigi Bocconi University in Milan in 1993. The same year he began his working career at JP Morgan Milan Branch as a trader and market maker of the Italian interest rate curve.

In 1997, he moved to JP Morgan London where he was responsible for the market making desk on Scandinavian rate curves. In 1998, he joined Caboto to develop market making and trading on linear derivative products. In 2000, he took the responsibility for the Interest Rates Swap Trading desk.

In 2005, he became Head of the Cash & Derivatives desk. Following the merger between Banca Caboto and Banca IMI, in 2008 he assumed the responsibility for the ALM & Treasury area of Banca IMI. In 2012, he is in charge of the Capital Management and Investments Strategies team.

Since 2014, also following the incorporation of Banca IMI into the parent company Intesa Sanpaolo, he holds the position of Head of Finance & Investments the structure that groups all finance, proprietary trading and investment activities of the IMI Corporate & Investment Banking Division.

Andrea Falchetti
HEAD OF CORPORATE FINANCE MID CAP


With a "Magna cum laude" degree in Economics and Business from Luiss University of Rome, he pursued his professional career in the banking sector, first in London and later in Milan. In the Intesa Sanpaolo Group since 2006, he has previously worked in the investment banking departments of international banks such as Schroders, Citigroup and Lehman Brothers with a specialisation in Merger & Acquisition.

In the Intesa Sanpaolo Group, in 2015, he contributed to creating a unit focused on corporate finance for medium-sized Italian companies that has a privileged point of view on entrepreneurs and their companies, thanks to an integrated investment banking Coverage & Execution model. A similar approach is also applied to customers of the international banks Intesa Sanpaolo owns outside Italy, specifically in Eastern Europe.

He has completed the Executive Program at Singularity University in Palo Alto (CA), on exponential impact technologies. He has also been a Mentor at Techstars.

Stefano Favale
HEAD OF GLOBAL TRANSACTION BANKING 

 

After graduating in Economics from the Luiss University of Rome, he is responsible for leading and executing Global Transaction Banking strategy across the Group through continuous improvement of the core product portfolio (Cash Management, Trade Finance, Acquiring, and Securities Services), a superior customer experience in corporate digital channels, and a focused development of strategic partnerships with fintech and key industry players.

With more than 20 years in the banking industry, he combines extensive experience in digital and transformational projects, broad managerial responsibilities in commercial banking, and thought leadership in the domestic and international payment communities.

He is Board Member of SWIFT and part of the Banking & Payment Committee. He is also senior board member of Bancomat S.p.A. and part of the ECB Market Advisory Group on Digital Euro.

Cristiano Maffi
HEAD OF GLOBAL PRIMARY MARKETS & SOLUTIONS 


He achieved a degree “Magna cum laude” in Economics in 1999 at Bocconi University in Milan, with a major in Financial and Monetary Economy.

Head of Global Primary Markets & Solutions since January 2023.

He joined Caboto Holding S.I.M. in 1999 and, after a brief period with AbaxBank, he joined back Banca Caboto focusing on derivatives products.

In Banca IMI, the new investment bank of Intesa Sanpaolo, he was appointed first Head of the Swap & Inflation Trading and later Co-Head of the Fixed Income, Currencies and Commodities area, responsible for both trading and sales units. In 2015, he took over the whole Trading department of Banca IMI.

From 2018 through 2022, he was Head of Global Market Securities, responsible for trading, sales, brokerage, investment products structuring activities and market strategy.

Since 2018, he sits on the Board of Directors of MTS S.p.A. and he served as a Board Member of the Board of Directors of Euro TLX SIM S.p.A from 2013 through 2019.

Alberto Mancuso
HEAD OF IMI CIB INTERNATIONAL NETWORK


He graduated in Law in Milan in 1999 at the University of Milan. Before joining Banca IMI he was responsible for the distribution of structured products at Caboto and Abaxbank (2000 – 2006). In 2006 he was appointed Head of Structured Products at Banca Caboto.

He then assumed a strategic role in the merger between Banca IMI and the San Paolo Group in his function as Head of the Sales sector for Retail & Private Banking Investment from 2007 until 2009 when he assumed a new role as Head of Sales Sector – Retail Financial Network (2009 – 2014).


In 2015, he became Head of Global Markets (Sales & Distribution). At the beginning of 2018, he assumed the role of General Manager of the London Branch and London HUB for the Intesa Sanpaolo Group.


He then assumed the role of Country Manager UK & MEA (July 2021 – December 2022) overseeing the management of the foreign branches in London, Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Doha and Istanbul including the Representative Offices in Beirut and Cairo.


He is currently Vice President of the Italian Chamber of Commerce & Industry for the UK and a member of the Young Leaders Association of the Council for the United States and Italy (Consiusa) since 2010. He has been a member of various Boards, including Banca Intesa Russia (2018 – 2019) and Epsilon SGR (2013 – 2018).

Salvatore Poma
HEAD OF SYNDICATION & RISK SHARING 


Graduated magna cum laude from Bocconi University in Milan, earning a degree in Economics he began his career in the banking sector within the Intesa Sanpaolo Group, tooking over several positions of responsibility for ideation and distribution across capital markets products and solutions, serving corporates, institutional investors, and governments.


From 2015 to 2018 he was appointed Global Head of Institutional Sales and developed the Italian and international institutional distribution platform of IMI CIB, afterwards he took over the responsibility of Global Head of Client Solution & Syndication focusing on the convergence of asset classes cash and synthetic.


He has served on the Board of the Intesa Sanpaolo subsidiary IMI Securities Corp. and Epsilon SGR, a specialized asset management company of the Intesa Sanpaolo Group.


Head of Syndication & Risk Sharing since January 2023.

Christian Ramon
HEAD OF INSTITUTIONAL CLIENTS 

He holds a Degree in Business Administration from Bocconi University, Milan and an MBA from INSEAD, Fontainebleau.

As Head of Institutional Clients coverage, he oversees Banks, Asset Managers, Insurance Companies, Financial Sponsors, Sovereign Wealth Funds and Governments globally.

In Intesa Sanpaolo since 2005, he has held various roles in the IMI Corporate & Investment Banking Division, most recently as Head of Strategies and Marketing (2016-2022) and Global Head of Oil & Gas (2013-2016).

Prior to joining Intesa Sanpaolo, he worked in the Investment Banking Department of Lehman Brothers in London.

Laura Segni
HEAD OF IMI CIB LEGAL ADVISORY


Graduated in Law Studies at La Sapienza University of Rome with an experimental thesis on "The Responsibility of the State for Breach of Community Law," supervisor Prof. Sabino Cassese.

She spent several years to studying, teaching and the University career. In 2001, she won the competition for one of two annual fellowships for Italian researchers at the European University Institute in Fiesole, where she earned a PhD with a thesis in "The power of the purse in the EU. The execution of the European budget" with Prof. Giuliano Amato.

She worked at the Ministry of Economy and Finance, first as an expert on structural funds and then as Legal Advisor to the Minister of Economy for three different governments. In this second experience, which took place during the years of the banking crisis and the subsequent sovereign debt crisis, she represented the Italian Republic in the Committees of Ecofin Council, for the negotiation of regulations on European supervision, the package of regulations on the reform of the Stability Pact and the creation of the State Save Funds (EFSF and ESM).

She joined the Intesa Sanpaolo Group in 2012 and she has been General Counsel for Banca IMI since November 2014.

Michele Sorrentino
HEAD OF IMI CIB ITALIAN NETWORK

 

He joined the Cariplo Group in 1986. From 1996, he held the position of Branch Manager of several retail branches in Central Italy.

In 2001, he began his path with roles of responsibility within the Corporate Division of Banca Intesa. In 2009, he became Head of the Central Area for the Mid Corporate Division of the Corporate and Investment Banking Division of Intesa Sanpaolo.

Since 2011 he has been Head of the North East Mid Corporate Area and in 2013 of the North West Mid Corporate Area. On the occasion of the integration of BIIS (Banca Infrastrutture Innovazione e Sviluppo) into the CIB Division, he assumed responsibility for Market Coordination of the Corporate and Public Finance Department.

From 2014 to 2016 he was Head of Analysis and Market Support Corporate and Public Finance. In 2016 he was entrusted with the responsibility of the Italian Network Global Corporate Department, which follows the relations with all major corporate groups with a turnover exceeding  350 million euro and with the main Central and Territorial Public Sector Administrations.

From 2009 to 2020 he was on the Board of Directors of the Cariplo Pension Fund and a member of its Real Estate Investment Commission, also serving as Deputy Chairman between 2014 and 2015. In the two-year period 2018-2019, he was a member of the Credit Committee of Mediocredito Italiano S.p.A.

Richard Zatta
HEAD OF GLOBAL CORPORATE 


He has obtained his Master’s in Business Administration from the Ca’ Foscari University of Venice and he has direct responsibility for all the Large Corporate clients, both domestic and international.

He started his career with the Banca Commerciale Italiana (BCI) taking part to an extensive program of professional development throughout Italy in all sectors of the corporate banking activity. Before the merger with Banca Intesa, he achieved several managerial responsibilities in the Italian network of BCI.

He has developed his career as a Structured Finance specialist, by taking different responsibilities within the Group and ending as Head of the Structure Finance Department of Banca IMI.

In 2019, he took the responsibility for the Global Strategic Coverage team within the Corporate & Investment Banking Division of Intesa Sanpaolo.

Head of Global Corporate since January 2020.
