Intesa Sanpaolo’s IMI Corporate & Investment Banking Division participated, together with a syndicate of banks, in green loan facilities totaling AUD 1.4Bn for Vena Energy, to support solar and battery energy storage systems (BESS) assets in Australia.
The operation comprises two transactions that combine the financing of new projects with the refinancing of existing credit facilities.
The solar assets object of the financing are expected to generate enough renewable power to supply the equivalent annual electricity needs of approximately 198,000 Australian households, thereby avoiding more than one million tonnes of CO2 emissions each year.
Vena Energy is among the leading green energy solutions provider across the Asia-Pacific region.
This transaction further reinforces the commitment of Intesa Sanpaolo, led by its CEO Carlo Messina, to supporting the energy transition by financing renewable energy infrastructure with a positive environmental impact. Through its IMI Corporate & Investment Banking Division, the Group continues to partner with leading international clients on projects that contribute to sustainable growth and decarbonisation.
