Important Notice: Data Security Incident at Intesa Sanpaolo S.p.A. Tokyo Branch Overview
Intesa Sanpaolo S.p.A. Tokyo Branch would like to inform you of a recent data security incident.
Between mid-February and late March 2026, a then-employee downloaded certain internal files without authorization and stored them on a personal device. Following the discovery of this incident, we conducted a thorough internal investigation. Also, we have promptly reported this matter to the FSA and the PPC, and we have since been cooperating fully with them.
The information involved was limited to basic personal and business contact details (such as name, contact information).
Through the investigation, we confirmed that all the data had been promptly recovered and/or deleted from the individual concerned and there is no evidence that the data was disclosed to, or accessed by, any third party. Therefore, we consider that the risk of any secondary harm to data subjects is very low. There is no need to data subjects to take any action (such as changing passwords).
The number of individuals involved is limited (52 individuals). Please note that we have already sent notification emails to individuals whose contact details are available to us. There are 7 individuals (including one former employee) for whom we do not have any contact details.
