Awarded at World's Best Trade Finance and Supply Chain Finance Providers 2024

On 17 January Global Finance, during the BAFT Europe Bank-to-Bank Forum 2024 in Frankfurt, announced the winners of the 24th annual World's Best Trade Finance and Supply Chain Finance Providers, awards recognized by the global financial community as a strong indicator of the standards of excellence by which the award-winning institutions operate.

Intesa Sanpaolo received 2 awards:

  • Best Use of Artificial Intelligence in Trade Finance Global for the digitization activity in Trade Finance and in particular for the use of AI in a project coordinated by the Global Transaction Banking and Business Service Center Units, an OCR (Optical Carachter Recognition) system integrated with AI and machine learning mechanisms that facilitates the user in the management of practices through the analysis of the documentation.
  • Best Trade Finance Providers in Italy 2024, an award recognizing the work carried out in 2023 by Global Transaction Banking and Financial Instutions in Trade Finance, a sector constantly involved in an increasingly advanced process of digitization, automation and innovation.

The editorial review board of Global Finance selected the best trade finance providers based on entries from banks and other providers, as well as input from industry analysts, corporate executives and technology experts. Criteria for choosing the winners included: transaction volume, scope of global coverage, customer service, competitive pricing and innovative technologies.

Faced with a challenging economic and geo-political environment and shifting trade flows has led to a greater reliance on digitalization and emerging technologies as banks and their corporate clients seek surety in a time of transition,” said Joseph D. Giarraputo, publisher and editorial director of Global Finance. “They are also finding new ways to tackle fragmented ecosystems and increased demand for Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) by helping create resiliency and provide greater transparency in supply chains.”
