On June 23, the IMI Corporate & Investment Banking Division of Intesa Sanpaolo hosted the event “Payment & Treasury Horizons: between strategy and innovation, the future on display” at Palazzo Rospigliosi in Rome. The event focused on the evolution of payments and new liquidity management strategies, with particular attention to innovations reshaping treasury and the increasing role of security in digital payments.

The initiative brought together CFOs, Treasurers and Finance Managers from leading corporates and public sector organizations, providing an opportunity to discuss the challenges and opportunities of an increasingly dynamic and complex financial environment.

In this context, Mario Morelli, Head of International Corporate Cash Management Sales at Intesa Sanpaolo, introduced and moderated the sessions, joined by Francesca Trolio, Head of GTB Business Planning and Development, and Michele Sorrentino, Head of IMI CIB Italian Network at Intesa Sanpaolo. They highlighted the importance of a shared vision and continuous dialogue with companies throughout transformation journeys.

Key topics included the growing centrality of treasury as a strategic function and the impact of AI. Nunzio Digiacomo, Senior Partner at McKinsey, provided insights into the opportunities and risks of the ongoing transformation.

Corporate experiences offered a concrete perspective on the evolution of liquidity management models: Andrea Balboni, Group Head of Financial Planning & Treasury at Maire, and Sergio Dalla Riva, Head of GTB Solutions at Intesa Sanpaolo, illustrated the adoption of innovative solutions such as the Multi Currency Optimizer in complex operating environments. The discussion was further enriched by the contribution of Simona Cascia, Global Treasury at Alfasigma SpA, and Andrea Pellegrini, Head of Financial Procedures and Compliance at Ferrovie dello Stato Group, during the roundtable moderated by Raffaella Ciaccia, Head of Sales GTB IMI CIB for Lazio and Southern Italy at Intesa Sanpaolo, highlighting shared priorities such as vision, control, integration and scalability.
