Intesa Sanpaolo for the sustainable development of Aquafil

Intesa Sanpaolo has signed two financing agreements with Aquafil for a total of EUR 30M to support the company's sustainable development projects.

The two credit lines, both with a five-year term, adopt a circular approach based on a pricing mechanism linked to the achievement of specific ESG KPIs, which relate in particular to:

  • increasing the share of electricity from renewable sources, including proprietary plants for self-production
  • reducing water consumption globally, in line with corporate sustainability strategies.

Aquafil is one of the leading producers of nylon at national and international level and is listed on the Euronext STAR segment of the Italian Stock Exchange.

The transaction, structured by Intesa Sanpaolo's IMI Corporate & Investment Banking Division with the contribution of the Circular Economy Desk of the Intesa Sanpaolo Innovation Centre, reconfirms the Group's commitment to sustainability and energy transition.
