Intesa Sanpaolo, through its IMI Corporate & Investment Banking Division, has participated in 28 ESG (Environmental, Social and Governance) bond issuances in the first months of 2025. These transactions were issued by Italian and international corporate issuers as well as leading financial institutions, confirming the bank’s position as a leader in the placement of sustainability-linked instruments.
The total proceeds raised exceeded EUR 21Bn, reflecting both the market’s growth and investors’ strong interest in sustainable financial instruments.
Intesa Sanpaolo played a key role as Global Coordinator and Joint Bookrunner in the inaugural 10-year European Green Bond issuance by A2A, which attracted orders totalling around EUR 3.7Bn for a EUR 500M deal.
The IMI CIB Division also contributed to other major European Green Bond issuances, such as those by Snam (with demand of EUR 3.3Bn for a EUR 1Bn offer) and Terna (EUR 750M offered, with demand nearly five time higher).
Through these transactions, the Intesa Sanpaolo Group continues to strengthen its position in international Debt Capital Markets, supporting corporates and financial institutions in progressing towards their ESG targets.
