Sponsoring the XX Spain-Italy Dialogue Forum in Barcelona
On 3 and 4 December, the 20th edition of the Spain-Italy Dialogue Forum was held in Barcelona, organized with the support of Intesa Sanpaolo. Since 1999, the initiative has brought together, alternately in Italian and Spanish cities, authoritative figures of the two countries from the institutional, academic, business and financial worlds for a discussion and in-depth analysis of the main issues of the European debate.
This year's edition focused on the priorities for promoting a more integrated and resilient Europe: digital, ecological and energy transition, strengthening European competitiveness and the completion of the Next Generation EU objectives. The topics were debated in thematic panels attended by leading figures from think tanks, banks and companies, moderated by Italian and Spanish journalists.
The proceedings were opened by the Deputy Mayor of Barcelona Laia Bonet. Speakers during the two-day event were Fabio Panetta - Governor of the Bank of Italy, Giancarlo Giorgetti - Minister of Economy and Finance of Italy and Carlos Cuerpo - Minister of Economy, Trade and Enterprise of Spain, Francesco Lollobrigida - Minister of Agriculture, Food Sovereignty and Forestry of Italy, Nicola Lanzetta - Director of ENEL Italy, Antonio Llardén - President of ENAGAS, Gilberto Pichetto Fratin - Minister of Environment and Energy Security of Italy and Raffaele Fitto - Executive Vice-President of the European Commission for Cohesion and Reform. For Intesa Sanpaolo, Mauro Micillo, Chief of IMI Corporate & Investment Banking Division participated in the panel entitled ‘The role of the financial sector in Italy and Spain to promote growth and competitiveness in Europe’.
