New awards for Intesa Sanpaolo IMI Corporate & Investment Banking Division
Recognitions continue to Intesa Sanpaolo IMI Corporate & Investment Banking Division at major industry publications that have recently held their awards ceremonies.
In particular, the IJ Global Awards - Mena ceremony, held in Dubai last April, has seen us as winners in 2 out of the 16 transactions awarded in the greenfield financing category:
- Export Finance Deal of the Year – Waste Management: SACE cover for Bee'ah - Sharjah Environmental. The agreement is for a 6-year untied credit facility to support the financing needs of the Sharjah-based company. Based in the Emirate of Sharjah, Bee'ah is the leading waste management company in the UAE and the transaction aims to increase business opportunities for Italian exporters in Sharjah and the UAE.
- Social infrastructure deal of the year: Zayed City Schools PPP. This is the first social infrastructure PPP to be procured by the Abu Dhabi Investment Office on a PPP basis in accordance with the Abu Dhabi PPP Law as part of the Abu Dhabi Future Schools Programme.
In early May, the winners of The Banker's Deal of the Year 2023 were also announced and the bank was awarded in 3 categories:
- Middle East - Bonds: Corporates for Mubadala's $1bn Formosa offering where we acted in the role of Structuring agent together with other leading banks.
- Europe - Infrastructure and project finance for the partial sale of Deutsche Telekom's towers to the DigitalBridge and Brookfield consortium where we acted as Bookrunners and Underwriter together with 6 other banks providing credit facilities totalling EUR 6.85bn.
- Asia pacific - Infrastructure and project finance: ReNew Power's 'round the clock' renewable energy project where we were lead arranger together with a pool of other banks.
