Supporting the renewal of the Grimaldi Lines eco green fleet
Intesa Sanpaolo, IMI Corporate & Investment Banking Division, has concluded two loans for a total amount of EUR 70 million to Grimaldi Euromed, a Grimaldi Group company specialising in the transport of rolling cargo in Europe and the Motorways of the Sea and in passenger transport in the Mediterranean under the Grimaldi Lines brand.
The two loans, finalised to the purchase of the new ships Eco Mediterranea and Eco Adriatica (respectively the tenth and the eleventh of the Grimaldi Green 5th Generation - GG5G class), are characterised by a pricing mechanism linked to the achievement of specific targets in the ESG area, i.e. a significant reduction of polluting emissions and the expansion of the use and installation of photovoltaic systems on the individual ships.
The transaction confirms Intesa Sanpaolo's support for the energy transition and NRRP-related investments.
