With Whysol Renewables in the energy transition of Southern Italy
Intesa Sanpaolo, through its IMI Corporate & Investment Banking Division, took part - alongside a pool of financial institutions - in a EUR 319M green financing for the Whysol Renewables Group. Intesa Sanpaolo acted as original lender, structuring mandated lead arranger, global coordinator, hedging bank, green loan coordinator and bookrunner, as well as agent bank, issuing bank and depositary bank.
Through this financing, Whysol ION Holding will develop 2 battery energy storage systems (BESS) and 4 agrivoltaic plants in Puglia, Sardinia and Campania, with a total capacity of approx.. 328 MW, thus supporting one of the most innovative deals in the national energy landscape, with significant impacts on Southern Italy.
