M. Micillo at Class CNBC's CEO Talks on challenges and opportunities in the global economy

Interviewed by Andrea Cabrini, Director of Class CNBC, Mauro Micillo, Chief of IMI Corporate & Investment Banking Division at Intesa Sanpaolo, analyzed the global economic and financial scenario and its possible developments, also considering the current geopolitical context.

Despite the new protectionist policies that have fuelled recent trade tensions, Mr Micillo highlighted how 2025 could be a year of possible recovery, with prospects that, although not without risks, could be favourable for both the manufacturing and financial sectors.

The Division's leadership in financing strategic initiatives in the infrastructure and energy transition sectors was also confirmed, as demonstrated by several transactions completed in the recent period, such as the financing of over EUR 700M to the Swedish company Stockholm Exergi, in which it acted as Sole Global Coordinator and Sole Bookrunner, for the construction of one of the world's largest plants for the capture and permanent storage of CO₂.

Finally, the interview touched on the results of the first quarter of 2025 for the IMI Corporate & Investment Banking Division, with a positive outlook for the end of the current year.
