Financial advisor for Società Gasdotti Italia in support of its growth and energy transition plan

The IMI Corporate & Investment Banking Division of Intesa Sanpaolo has supported Società Gasdotti Italia (SGI) as financial advisor in the €775 million refinancing transaction aimed at supporting the company's growth plan and further strengthening its financial position.

The refinancing replaces the current bank lines and will finance new investment programmes, including initiatives such as:

• the refurbishment of certain gas pipelines to increase safety and operational efficiency
• the expansion of the SGI transport network to facilitate the connection of new biomethane plants
• the digital transformation of the company's infrastructure and assets.

SGI is the leading independent operator in natural gas transportation in Italy, with approximately 1,800 km of network concentrated in the centre and south of the country.

Intesa Sanpaolo also participated in the group of financial institutions that provided the financing, together with 12 international banks and 2 institutional investors.
