Intesa Sanpaolo endorses the ICC Principles for Sustainable Trade Finance

The International Chamber of Commerce (ICC), together with over 100 banks, corporations and multilateral institutions, has developed the first shared operational framework for classifying Sustainable Trade Finance, addressing a regulatory gap in Trade Finance.

The Principles for Sustainable Trade Finance are divided into four categories: Green Trade Finance (already released), Sustainability-Linked Trade Finance, Supply Chain Finance and Social Trade Finance.

With this “second wave” of endorsements, combined with the founders, coverage now reaches approximately 70% of the European Trade Finance market.

The framework will be presented to the international community during COP30 (Belém, Brazil, 10-21 November 2025).

Intesa Sanpaolo's endorsement represents a commitment to a market standard set to become a global benchmark.
