Asilo Mariuccia: two shelters for women victims of violence realized
Intesa Sanpaolo, through its crowdfunding platform For Funding, raised over EUR 130,000 for Asilo Mariuccia Foundation in support of “Casa Ersilia” project.
The fundraising campaign, supported by a donation from the IMI Corporate & Investment Banking Division, made it possible to:
- build two shelters in Lombardy to take in women and children who are victims of abuse and violence
- finance a year of activities for the team specialising in reception (psychotherapists, cultural mediators, psychological support), the purchase of a vehicle and the cost of a driver to transport women and their children safely.
“Casa Ersilia” has already taken in 10 single women with children. Children who are unable to attend school receive home schooling from educators.
With its 2022-2025 Business Plan, the Group, led by CEO Carlo Messina, has set up a dedicated structure, Intesa Sanpaolo per il Sociale, to strengthen its goal of being a benchmark in social sustainability, promoting the themes of inclusion and cohesion.
