Enel-Masdar agreement for the management of photovoltaic plants in Spain

The IMI Corporate & Investment Banking Division of Intesa Sanpaolo acted as co-advisor to the Enel Group for the partnership agreement for the management of photovoltaic plants in Spain signed with Masdar.

In particular, Masdar (Abu Dhabi Future Energy Company) is to acquire a minority stake in EGPE Solar that owns Endesa's (Enel's subsidiary and one of the leading electricity companies in Spain and Portugal) existing portfolio of photovoltaic plants already in operation for a consideration of EUR 817M.

The deal will allow Enel to retain control of EGPE Solar, maximising productivity and return on investment.
