Renewable Energy: Participation in €2.5bn financing for Sonnedix

The IMI Corporate & Investment Banking Division participated in a €2.5 billion financing for Sonnedix, a global renewable energy producer.

The transaction, structured as a Green and Sustainability Linked loan, refinanced a 1.1 GW portfolio of renewable energy assets in Spain, Italy and France with the option to extend the credit line to new assets throughout Europe and the United Kingdom.

The refinancing involved a pool of international banks and institutional investors, including Intesa Sanpaolo through the collaboration between Banca dei Territori and the IMI Corporate & Investment Banking Division. A model of synergy between the two Divisions that allows the Group's best skills, led by CEO Carlo Messina, to be made available to customers, thus combining relationships and Investment Banking services.
