Financing to MSC Crociere for the development of the Port of Miami
Intesa Sanpaolo, IMI Corporate & Investment Banking Division, and Cassa Depositi e Prestiti (CDP) have structured a 350 million euro loan in favor of MSC Crociere, which will enable Fincantieri to build the largest cruise terminal in the United States. The loan is guaranteed by SACE and has also seen the intervention of SIMEST for the stabilization of the rate and the contribution in interest account.
The project, commissioned by MSC Cruises to Fincantieri, will lead to the expansion of the port of Miami through the construction of a new terminal, annexed structures for the pier, offices and parking by the end of 2023. The execution will follow the criteria set forth by the Green Building Rating Systems (GBRS) - a rating system for the development of eco-friendly construction, which translates into the use of environmentally sustainable materials and innovative design and construction technologies to limit the impact on the environment.
The inauguration, under the sign of Made in Italy, took place on March 10, 2022 and saw Fincantieri, Italian excellence and the first group in Europe in the shipbuilding sector, kick off an ambitious project aimed at supporting and relaunching the cruise sector.
