EUR 202M to Acque Bresciane to support green investments

Intesa Sanpaolo, through its IMI Corporate & Investment Banking Division, participated with a pool of banks (BNL, Banco BPM, BPER and Iccrea Banca) and with Cassa Depositi e Prestiti in the financing of EUR 202M in favour of Acque Bresciane, the public company manager of Brescia's water service.

The operation, in which the Bank acted as Sustainability Coordinator and Agent Bank, is aimed at encouraging sustainable investments involving circular economy projects, environmental sustainability, efficient use of resources and energy and cost savings in line with the objectives of the 2030 Agenda.

The loan, disbursed over four years, provides for three lines of credit with different purposes:

- coverage of the "green" investments of the Industrial Plan, and the related pricing mechanism that allows savings on financial charges for the Company

- investments to support the process of expanding the number of municipalities managed to the entire province of Brescia

- refinancing of past debt

"This important loan to Acque Bresciane confirms Intesa Sanpaolo's ongoing support for the Italian economy, in particular to strengthen such an essential, primary sector, thus concretely benefiting citizens and the community," commented Michele Sorrentino, Head of Network Italy in the IMI Corporate & Investment Banking Division.
