Our country can seize a great opportunity for modernisation: approximately 230 billion euro to invest in infrastructure, a path aimed at increasing competitiveness and improving the ecological footprint of the economic system.

The European Union is focusing on infrastructure to kick-start the economic cycle following the crisis brought about by the pandemic. Thanks to the extraordinary funds of the Recovery Fund, Europe intends to quickly make up for lost ground and above all it seeks to accelerate the innovation process of the EU economy, increasing its competitiveness and promoting ecological transition.

In this context, Italy is called upon to play a crucial role since it has a significant share of funds available: 230 billion euro, 200 of which from the Recovery fund and another 30 as complementary funds. Investments are intended for digitisation, high speed network in the South, sustainable mobility, and renewal of the national public architectural heritage.

The IMI Corporate & Investment Banking Division is strongly committed to supporting the practical implementation of infrastructure investment projects. Our Division, in particular, provides full support to builders to get projects off the ground, providing the guarantees on the deposits that must be presented in order to activate the funds needed to develop the plans.

The infrastructure sector is crucial for Italy's development and modernisation in the coming years, as illustrated in this video by Riccardo Dutto, Head of Industry Infrastructure & Real Estate Partners, IMI Corporate & Investment Banking Division, Intesa Sanpaolo.
