Digital Horizons: AI and Shared Visions for the Future of Businesses

On 24 March, the IMI Corporate & Investment Banking Division of Intesa Sanpaolo organised the event Digital Horizons: AI and shared visions for the future of businesses in Milan, at the Spazio Eventi of Torre Gioia22. The event brought together diverse experiences, expertise and perspectives to explore the role of artificial intelligence in transforming business models and corporate processes.

The meeting was attended by representatives from the Bank, academia and various companies, with the aim of sharing concrete experiences of AI adoption, analysing key market dynamics and fostering direct dialogue among organisations operating across different sectors and organisational models.

For the IMI CIB Division of Intesa Sanpaolo, the event opened with remarks by Michele Sorrentino, Head of IMI CIB Italian Network, and Stefano Favale, Head of Global Transaction Banking, who outlined the Bank’s role in supporting companies along  their innovation and digitalisation journeys.

Francesca Trolio, Head of GTB Business Planning & Development, IMI CIB Division Intesa Sanpaolo, introduced and moderated the session, starting with the presentation by the first guest speaker, Marcello Restelli, Head of Research at the Artificial Intelligence Observatory of the Politecnico di Milano, who provided a structured overview of technological trends and the evolution of the AI market.

This was followed by Silvia Casartelli, Head of Digital Marketing, IMI CIB Division Intesa Sanpaolo, who presented the results of a survey on the digital evolution of corporate clients and their expectations regarding the adoption of artificial intelligence.

The discussion among companies featured contributions from:

  • Riccardo Ocleppo, Delegate for AI at Buffetti Group and Founder of OPIT – Open Institute of Technology;
  • Silvia Gabrielli, Chief Information Officer at Sky Italia;
  • Vincenzo Gargiulo, Group Artificial Intelligence Officer at Bludigit and Italgas.

The dialogue, moderated by Maddalena Amoruso, Head of the AI Delivery Center, Intesa Sanpaolo, explored the integration of artificial intelligence into corporate processes, addressing organisational choices, skills development, concrete applications and solutions supporting digital transformation.

To complete the discussion on AI, the event also addressed cybersecurity and process resilience, through a dialogue between Matteo Feraboli, Head of the Cybersecurity and Anti-Fraud Strategy & Defense Center, Intesa Sanpaolo, and Giampiero Restaino, Executive Partner at Reply, focusing on the role of AI in supporting cyber risk protection and management.

The event concluded with remarks by Silvia Botto, Head of IMI CIB Marketing and Strategies, Intesa Sanpaolo, who highlighted how artificial intelligence represents one of the key objectives of the new industrial plan,a strategic priority that the Division will pursue by supporting companies along a shared journey to fully seize the opportunities offered by technological evolution.
