Cardea is part of the new digital offering at the service of Intesa Sanpaolo's financial institutions clients, in full accordance with the objectives of our Group's 2022-25 Business Plan. The new portal, developed by the IMI Corporate & Investment Banking Division, responds clearly and effectively to the needs of financial institutions clients by providing, through a single access point, all the information needed to define effective investment strategies, as well as the opportunity to trade on the securities markets. Cardea, which derives its name from the Roman goddess of doors and hinges, aims to be the gateway for Financial Institutions requiring timely information and targeted insights into the main financial markets.

The new portal is part of the broader strategy by the Group and the Division to further support institutional clients with an increasingly cutting-edge digital set of high value-added and technologically advanced services to facilitate their transactions.

THE DIGITAL TURNING POINT

Cardea's launch is part of the philosophy behind Intesa Sanpaolo's new Business Plan, which includes digitisation as one of the cornerstones of the Group's strategy.

The digital turning point, set out in the Business Plan, changes the distribution model and is integrated into the entire process structure of the Group's various activities. This appears to be the right time to accelerate the expansion and improvement of an innovative financial offering capable of enhancing the distinctive contribution dictated by the technology progress acceleration.

The gradual, yet radical change in client needs, expectations and behaviour is reflected in banks' activities and business. It is therefore necessary to find new ways of banking and the digital domain is able to give the right answers.

The other major general factors driving towards a change in the relationship between banks and businesses are:

  • the NRRP (National Recovery and Resilience Plan), which plans structured measures on digital and ecological transition, with around EUR 120Bn allocated to digitisation, innovation, competitiveness and ecological transition;
  •  the ESG/digital ratio, which by 2050 will directly or indirectly contribute to reducing CO2 emissions in Italy.

HOW CARDEA WORKS

Easy to navigate and user-friendly, Cardea provides institutional clients with various sections featuring market data, research, commentaries, real-time news and the option to trade on listed markets for users with Market Hub credentials. When logging into Cardea, the home page offers a customisable overview of the main contents available on the portal, making it adaptable to the needs of each individual user. Clients can select and organise contents according to their preferences and needs, including research and news by asset class or financial instrument. The Watchlist section also allows users to follow the stocks of interest, like a real virtual investment portfolio.

The several in-depth sections available on the portal, from market data to analyses produced by Intesa Sanpaolo analysts, economists and strategists, also available in video and podcast formats, and real-time news on financial markets, can be consulted through articles, live TV and videos.

Portal users will also find a wide range of news and insights about the Italian market. The Division's international vocation, aimed at supporting the business of institutional clients abroad, cannot fail to consider its major role of reference in Italy for international institutional clients. To this end, Cardea proposes the Focus Italia section, which contains all the information needed to transact on the Italian market.
